Singapore Girls Are Materialistic?

I read about this on stomp lately, and i felt a sudden urge to blog about it.
I actually agree to this fact.
Singaporean girls are materialistic.
I mean, look around you.
How many girls are there along Orchard road shopping for clothes and such?
It seems like they don't know the difference between Needs and Wants.
They think that everything that they want as a need.
Ever heard of your friends saying, "Omg! I NEED that bag/shoes/dress!" ?
Cliche' much?
It's starting to become a problem.
Well for me, specifically.
I'm afraid that my future Girlfriend would be as materialistic, and the phrase LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE, NOT WHAT YOU ARE will no longer stand true.

But is it really the girls who are materialistic?
Them, only?
What about the guys?
What about those who buys cars and owns $1000 Rolex watches?
When we ask them about such things, their egoistic nature kicks in, and they go into their defensive mode.
They begin rambling about how it's a necessity for them and their careers.
I'm sure everyone has noticed that material goods has been a reflection of one's success?
Big cars + Big house = SUCCESSFUL = STATUS = PEOPLE LOOKING UP TO YOU = YOU GOTTA BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU SAY OR DO IN THE PUBLIC = WORK HARD TO MAINTAIN PUBLIC IMAGE
It's hard to BECOME successful, but i personally think that it's EVEN HARDER to maintain you image AFTER being successful.
