M'sia Trip, Day 1, Part 3.
Saturday, December 22, 2007
Yohaaaaaaaaaaaa!
hey hey hey ya'lll...
yes, its been very long.
far TOO long as a matter of fact.
The only reason i'm blogging is becos i'm waiting for my sis to finish bathing.
and my brother.
anyhwo,
i stopped at the part when we first came to the house right?
very well.
this is wad happened
...
as the taxi drove us into their premises,
i see their house, newly refurbished,
and it looked like some DATO' house.
[Dato' is the title given to some people who really dun deserve it]
and so,
we got off the cab,
got our stuffs from the BIG BOOT,
and paid that money-minded -swanky-excuse-of-someone,
and got to the front porch of their house.
i saw my aunty,
my other gran gran,
and
my 4 cuzzins.[Along, Angah,Uda and Kak Chik]
the four names above are just wad they address each other as.
like ABANG,KAKAK,JIE JIE, KOR KOR. etc.
[Correct speeling anot ah?]
so,.
my brother,
being the overly extroverted one,
yes,more than i am,
went about to their house like he owns the land...
and he was like.
"ASSALAMUALAIKUM! KITA DATAANG NII!!!", out loud.
"PEACE BE UPON YOU! WE'RE HERE!!!", out loud.
and i was like, "wadahell? you aint got no own this piece of land here! you cant just go in and make yourself at home in other people's homes!", in my heart.
but then they welcomed us to their humble abode,
and told us to make ourselves at home.
and i was like,
"ugh. i hate me...", in my heart, again.
so,
we put our luggages[technically they are the DC bag pack i bought to school and camps. know that? ]
yea,
we placed them in their hall,
and we got out of the hose to sit at the beranda.
i think english word for them is VERANDA
right joel?
nvrmind.
so we sat there on their sofas really awkwardly.
well at least i was.
my brother and me.
my mum was like already switched into talkative mode,
and she left me,my dad and bro to sit together awkwardly.
then my cuzzin sat beside me.
the boy one. UDA.
[Keep up people!]
and he looked at me, and my brother.
and i was like,
"Please dun ask me out to play. please please please!!!"
but then he didn't
he just sat there together with us,
and stared at the banana tree across the house so hard,
that it almost had holes on its trunk.
anyhu,
we hadn't warmed up yet.
we malu malu mahh
then the 2 elder cuzzins went inside for a couple of minutes,
and then came back out with coffee and some kuehs.
the last one, as in my cuzzin,
was Kak Chik. 6 years old.
she was hiding underneath her mom's armpit.
malu oso.
So, After a few m,minutes of awkward moments,
my mom eventually asked me to change
in to momething less conspicuous and
something that doesn't say,
"LOOK AT ME! I'M FROM SINGAPORE!"
cos ya'lll know how the m'sians do right?
they see you coming from s'pore,
they will start asking qns, and
charge you more for the stuffs there,
like the money-minded-asshole-cabbie-driver-who-has-left-us-for-good.
so,
being a good boy,
i went ahead to change,
into my green hangten tee,
and my sarong,
or shall i say,
my dad's sarong.
since we placed our bags near the door,
and my dad was sitting NEAR the door,
he cud see wad i was taking out and wad not.
when he saw me taking out the green sarong,
he called me,
and was like,
" Then wad am i supposed to wear/"
then i was like
"there's another one in the bag!"
then he like gave me the stink eye,
and then got into a BF.
[Bitch Fit]
but then,
i dun really care
cos there's another one in the bag,
and i ain't giving it up to no one.
hua hua hua
but i did make a few trips back from the room to the door area where the bags were.
cos i did want to change into my long pants that i brought and intended to wear,
but i realised that,
"Hey, waddehek! i dun really givvadammm!"
after walking around the house for a few minutes,
it then hit me.
my uncle was no where in sight.
apparently,
my mom did realise it too.
she asked my aunt,
and she said that he was out tending to his farm and cows.
so okayy.
it wasn't any big deal.
i sat with the rest outside at the veranda
and we chit chatted for almost 1/2 hour.
when suddenly my uncle came back.
he was on his motorbike,
and he carried DURIANS home!!!
no,
its not smelly, and disgusting, and wad not.....
[Curse You People... :P:P:P]
and it was those kind that i used to eat when i was young,
the ones with the shells still intact.
in other words,
they are not in the Styrofoam boxes with cling wrap.
My cuzzin taught me how to open the durian,
and guess wad,
he's 10 years old.
MALUUU RIGHT?
but its all fun lahh..
so we opened it,
and i tried tasting it.
it was heaven
[Although it wud be paradise if it was cold]
he kinda like bought 6 durians,
and my cuzzins and i, and my bro ofcourse,
ate like 3 of them
but they are the ones who ate most,
cos we're at sumone else's home,
and we have to behave.
and not eat too much.
but i tell you,
the durian was creamy,
and it was sweet,
and it was mouth watering.
despite the occasionnal bugs-on-the-sheel thinngggysss...
after 15 minutes of devouring the durians,
we sat again,
and almost did nothing.
it was windy,
and my cuzzin said sumthing about wanting to fly a kite,
and so, my dad, having almost 700ringgits in his wallet,
offered my cuzzin[The Boy One,UDA]
to go out into the city to buy him the kite.
so,
my dad,my bro and my cuzzin went.
after abt 2 minutes,
my bro came back running.
i thought he had sumting imt to tell us or sumthin like dat,
but then he said,
"Abang, dad wants you to follow us."
At that point,.
i was like
"What? i've changed and all, and he expects me to follow him????Nonsense You know..."
but good thing my dad wasn't anywhere near me that time.
so, i quickly dashed into the room,
took off my sarong,
put on my jeans,
and my shirt,
and ran out of the house.
walking to the city wasnt very far.
its like walking from my house to the mosque near xavier's house.
so its cool.
along the way,
i saw many things.
houses,
people
busses,
cars
vans
shops
motorbikes
more people
and more vehicles
when we finally arrived at the city,
[Although i wudn't call it a sity,it was more of a Geylang kinda thing.]
my dad led us through somekind of budget hawker center,
and as we were walking,
the people gave us THE LOOK
you know,
the look.
the one that reads
""Oooo...singaporeans. sure one. never see before leh. look at the way they dress. surely singaporeans."
but i learnt to ignore them after 4 times visiting them.
so, as we walk to the left,
as we walk to the right.
as we walk
as we walk
as we walk all...err, day?
okok...got carried away there...
so,
we finally got to the place where they sold the kites,
and my dad bought my cuzzin his kite,
along with other stuffies.
and then we went to drink tea or somthing,
well technically, my dad drank tea,
while me and my bro and my cuzzins drank bandung.
it wasn't all the dandy-shandy
its like skool bandung lahh
the kopitiam one.
and suddenly
this guy from the otheer stall came towards us,
carrying a chemistry-lab-basket-lookalike thing that was filled with 5 otak2.
i was reluctant to eat them first,
but then my stomach got the better of me
i started eating and eating.
but 2 only.
my bro 2,
my cuzzin 1
hahhahahahahaha
i'm sooo evil..
then my dad asked for 5 more
then we ate again
my dad asked me if it was nice.
i just said it was,
cos its like otak2,
but it tasted like spring rolled chilli paste-rolled-with-not-spring-roll-skin,-but-with-paper.
but its ok i guss
so my dad asked for 10 more,
and we ate and ate like there's no tomorrow.
but when the bill came,
we spent 15 ringgit on drinks alone,
and 12.60 ringgit on the otak2.
siao mann
then we walked home again after waiting for the rain to clear.
cos that's the only reason why we sat at the tea shop in the first place.
to wait for the rain to stop.
then we walked home...
it was kinda boring uhh,
goin out wit my dad drinking tea.
i wud really prefer going out wit my mum,
to the weekly pasar lambak[bulk market]
that wud be more fun.
hehehehe
upon arrival,
i dashed into the house,
got changed into my comfy shirt and sarong,
and sat down outside.
then my aunt called for us to eat lunch.
it was only 1 30 at that time.
so, me, hearing the word food and lunch,
was the first to stand up and went inside for the feast.
we had sayur lemak pucuk ubi,
ikan kapak kering and ikan kapak goreng,
tempeh and kicap sambal.
its mm mmm....good.
delicious
hahaha...
then we went ahead for the day...
did nothing but look at the plants
and wad not.
i stared at the sky,
enjoyed the breeze and looked at the plants growing there.
i ate tapioca,
drank coffee that came after a few hours.
and stoned there cos there's no form of entertainment,
mean while,
my mum talked with her sister,
and me dad was stoning oso.
and my bro and cuzzins were playing with the kite.
man it was boring.
i guess i'll stop here for today.
and let me tell you,
i tried to make the boring day there as fun as possible
and its not easy.
some may find it fun, some might not.
but i dun care.
it's all for fun.
eileen asked me why i penned my hapy feelings down here in my blog,
and not my sad ones.
well, my answer is simple.
i want my happy tots and memories to stay forever,
and when i read them back,
i can get the same feeling as i did when i was typing that particular post.
and so,
i dun wan the negative ones to linger for long.
i learn from them,
and move on.
no use dwelling on the past
as it can only make you fell worse.
and i learnt that recently!
YAY ME!
